Scituate to Boston, marina (?!)

On Thursday we left Scituate around 10 am, partly to wait out the fog. The run to Boston is only a couple of hours, and while dreary, the winds were excellent. Before getting underway we stopped at our buddy boat, Highwind, to pilfer their fish curry stash. We saved their fridge from a science experiment. Tasty too! Hannah and David were traveling for a few days and didn't think it would last... we were happy to help.

The route to Boston weaved us in between the islands just off the coast. To get to the marina you have to navigate the bustling bay, filled with tour boats, ferries, commercial traffic, and sailboat schools taking advantage. It's not far but our eyes kept roving everywhere.

Boston on the horizon. We had some fog come
and go all day long, but it did clear.
Constitution Marina wasn't quite ready for us, and didn't know where to put us. We had to stand station for 30 minutes or so while they ran around, locating a vacant spot.

But Boston! We've been here a couple of days now. Did some reprovisioning at Costco, taken a number of walks, and eaten excellent food.

This is the first official marina we've been in since we left Baltimore. We did spend time on a pier in New London, but otherwise, we've been on balls or at anchor.

inQuest on the pier.
We plan on a longer Boston stay, but will move from the marina to another just up the river a bit.

Constitution Marina. Now that the bridge is done getting to the
core of the city is trivial from here.

Boston's North End, aka, "little Italy."

A visit to Mike's Pastry. Note the crowd... and the "easy to select"
billboard of cannoli flavors!
