Cambridge back to Baltimore

Early out
Admittedly, we returned about a week ago. After waiting 5 days in Cambridge we finally had the Mid-shore guys on the boat where Russ talked about all he wanted done. They made notes, asked questions, offered suggestions, and came back the next day with a quote. The price wasn't great (we expected that) and the labor would take 1 to 2 weeks (we expected that, too). The deal breaker was when they could start: Oct 20. We have flights booked home on the 30th. Even if it all went well, there was the issues, like weather (I'm particular about my travel days) and time to still get the boat winterized.

So.

Slowly transitioning away from
the black. Even the old vacuum
cabinet (lower) has been covered.
Russ is doing it himself.

We only took 1 travel day to return, a 7 hour trip. We left early and got in around 2:30. It was a Saturday, calm and sunny. The only lumpy place on the voyage was when I was in the galley making lunch. Otherwise it was a smooth trip.

Once we returned Russ got to work. He didn't feel the trip was a waste since talking to the professional made things more clear to him about what to do.

At the moment we're in our slip. We will have to move the boat to another slip before we leave. The city is planning on doing repairs on the promenade along the marina. To do that they need to bring a bit barge in with a crane. To do THAT, they need to eliminate parts of some docks, and our slip is on one of those parts.

Such is boat life.

Got together with looper friends, Brenda and Tom,
